Wan Chai Walls (HKWalls festival 2019 walking tour)
At the end of March more than 40 graffiti and street artist from all around the globe congregated for the 6th edition of Hong Kong’s one and only street art festival HKWalls. This year’s hot spot was Wan Chai. For over a week, the streets were filled with the buzz of creation and the smell of paint and aerosols. The excitement of the festival is now over and the smell of fresh paint has evaporated. Luckily what remains is an impressive array of wonderful art works.
The “Wan Chai Walls” tour will take you on an insightful journey past the newly created festival murals in the easily walkable Morrison Hill neighbourhood, where most of this year’s murals were created in close proximity to each other. Alex was once again HKWalls’ official tour guide and is excited to share all her insights and knowledge about street art, the festival, its artists and their works with you during this 90-minute-tour.
Along the way, you’ll… …get an insight into the world of graffiti and street art …hear the behind-the-scenes stories of HKWalls festival 2019 …learn about the artists, their techniques and their backgrounds …see a wall come alive …get an introduction to the district of Wan Chai …and take home a little instant souvenir photo (we are big fans of old school stuff)
Book your spot, put on your walking shoes, grab your camera and let Alex take you around the marvellous art of this year’s HKWalls’ festival street art tour.
